The consolidation effort for Emporia Child Care is going smoothly.
That’s according to ECC Director Deb Crowl who was a recent guest on KVOE’s Newsmaker. For the past few years, ECC has been working to consolidate services in Emporia to their location at 1320 C of E Drive.
Currently, ECC’s toddler and infant program is located on the garden level in the C of E Drive location and plans are in motion to relocate the pre-school program to the second floor from its current location at 802 Commercial. Crowl says the consolidation effort will benefit both families and staff alike.
Crowl adds they are currently taking full advantage of mobilizing literacy who have recently provided two new curriculums for ECC to implement. Crow believes these curriculums will make a big impact on children as they move from ECC into kindergarten and beyond.
Last year, ECC was made the recipient of a Community Service Tax Credit back in September. The credit allows donors to receive a refund for half of their donations to ECC in the form of a state tax credit.
Crowl says this along with other pending grants down the road will help to push ECC over the “hump” of their fundraising efforts and may even help ECC reach their final $1.8 million goal.
