For the 2nd week in a row and 3rd time this season Emporia States Tyra Jones has been named the MIAA player of the week.
Jones averaged 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as the Lady Hornets went 2-0 last week. She had her third straight double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in Emporia State’s 77-71 win at No. 23 Pittsburg State on Wednesday, January 23. Jones then had 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks in ESU’s 76-61 win at Missouri Southern. She shares the honor with Washburns Reagan Phelan.
