Trial has begun for one of five defendants in a drug distribution case from last fall.
Trial got underway Monday morning with jury selection and moved into early testimony for Cole Bowen. Bowen is facing charges of distributing stimulants and possession of paraphernalia with intent to manufacture.
Charges against Bowen and four others developed in September after alleged drug activity. Co-defendant Jacob Rodriguez has pleaded to a drug distribution charge and is awaiting sentencing, while another co-defendant Amanda Alvarado has a hearing Feb. 4 on charges of distributing stimulants and child endangerment. Seanna Herron had a recent hearing to suppress certain evidence in her case on Thursday. Luis Guillen’s prime trial setting is Feb. 25.
