Wednesday is Election Day in Eureka.
Polls will be open at the Matt Samuels Community Building in Eureka and the Severy United Methodist Church as parents and patrons in USD 389 Eureka decide on a $7.5 million bond to rebuild the Eureka Junior-Senior High Activity Center. If approved, this would mean a new building with two basketball courts, activity center, restrooms and locker rooms.
The district says bonds would be financed over 20 years and there would be no impact to its mil levy because the district is currently paying off another improvement bond.
The bond does not address possible renovations to McGinnis Field, the football field that also suffered major damage in last June’s EF-3 tornado. Those will use capital outlay and insurance reimbursement funds.
Polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.
