The Emporia State baseball team is scheduled to open their season Friday when they play Lubbock Christian in Edmond, Oklahoma.
First year Head Coach Seth Wheeler says they are not to far behind due to the cold weather.
Emporia State returns only a few of last years top pitchers, Coach Wheeler is excited to see what the pitching staff becomes.
The Hornets are also scheduled to play Southeastern Oklahoma State and Southwest Oklahoma State Saturday and Sunday in Edmond, Oklahoma.
