A former Chase County jail staffer faces charges of misconduct with an inmate.
Courtney White-Dold was charged last week with a single count of unlawful sexual relations after alleged activity from late June to early September, according to documents provided by the Fifth Judicial District office in Cottonwood Falls.
Authorities say they encountered a PREA, or Prison Rape Elimination Act incident in the Chase County Jail in late September allegedly involving White-Dold and a Sedgwick County inmate in the Chase County jail due to overcrowding. Further investigation led authorities to allege additional contact, including hundreds of text or phone messages between the two with several indicating sexual contact.
White-Dold joined the jail staff in August 2017 and was fired in late September. Her next court appearance is Feb. 15 at 10 am.
