Two area law enforcement agencies are warning about scams circulating at this time.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says one resident reported receiving a call claiming that individual had missed federal jury duty and followed that statement with questions asking for personal information.
Also, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office says people allegedly representing the Internal Revenue Service are asking for credit card numbers, wire transfers and purchases of gift cards or iTunes.
None of these requests are legitimate. If you receive calls of this nature, regardless of the agency allegedly represented, call your local law enforcement agency.
