The Olpe eagles swept the Lyndon Tigers, on the Area Game of the Week, Friday night.
The Lady Eagles stretched a 16-4 1st quarter lead to 39-13 at the half on their way to a 61-36 win. Olpe forced 27 turnovers to lead a defensive effort that kept Lyndon mostly off balance. Olpe girls’ coach said he warned his team about a post-tournament letdown, but they still weren’t very sharp.
Olpe was led by Emma Miller with 17points. Macy Smith was also in double figures with eleven points. Lyndon was led by Brooke Addleman with 15 points. Olpe improves to 15-0, while Lyndon falls to 4-11.
The Olpe boys jumped out to an early 9 point lead but could never completely pull away from Lyndon on the way to a 58-41 win. Olpe built a 22 point 4th quarter lead only to see Lyndon close the gap to 15, but Olpe was able to hold the lead. Olpe boys’ coach Chris Schmidt says they’re still learning to put teams away.
Olpe was led by Cam Hoelting with a game-high 23 points. Dawson McCarthy added 12. Lynson was lead by Beau Baker with 12. Olpe improves to 10-5, while Lyndon falls to 2-13.
