The Lincoln Blue Tigers out scored the Emporia State mens basketball team 76-71 Saturday.
The game featured 13 lead changes and 2 ties. Both teams had 9 point leads in the first half. Emporia State was out scored 8-2 in the final 2 minutes of play. Emporia State struggled at the free throw line making 13 of 22 attempts. Lincoln was 10-12 from the free throw line and made 14 threes. Emporia State Coach Craig Doty said the missed opportunities proved costly.
Julius Jackson led Emporia State with 22 points. Kam Rowan and Sawyer Glick both scored 11 points and Hassan Thomas finished with 10 points. Lincoln was led by Tez Ivory with 30 points, he was 8-11 from the 3 point line.
The Hornets fall to 8-12 for the season and 3-8 in the MIAA.
Both the Emporia State women and men play at Southwest Baptist next Thursday.
