The origination point of a house fire in Neosho Rapids Sunday which resulted in the death of the home’s owner has been determined.
According to a press release from the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the origin of the fire at 719 Mulberry Street that resulted in the death of 55-year-old Daniel Lambeth began in the living room of the residence. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
According to a separate release from the Sheriff’s Office, preliminary autopsy results indicate smoke inhalation and thermal injury were what resulted in Lambeth’s death. Firefighters from Emporia and Hartford-Neosho Rapids found the home fully involved in flames. They found Lambeth inside once they had the fire out.
Final autopsy results may take several months before they are confirmed and released.
