Emporia city commissioners have a lengthy list of discussion items on the agenda for their upcoming study session Wednesday.
Commissioners will discuss an appeal from Community National Bank and BG Consultants to override the State of Kansas Historic Preservation Office decision regarding the proposed demolition of a building located at 701 Merchant Street. The building is located within the City of Emporia’s Downtown Historic District and as such any permits issued will be reviewed by the SHPO.
Community National Bank is proposing a rebuild on this location if commissioners approve the appeal.
Commissioners will also have a review of the Flood Zone Map, discuss the 2018 rehab list street review, review policies regarding the sale of cereal malt beverages and hold discussions for a stormwater drain runoff.
The meeting gets underway at 10:15 am inside city conference room 1AB at White Auditorium.
