One man accused of distributing methamphetamine in Emporia last year has a pretrial hearing this week.
Luciano Salazar is charged with two counts each of distributing meth within 1,000 feet of a school, no drug tax stamp and illegal use of a communication facility as well as a single count of criminal in possession of a firearm. Authorities say he sold meth within 1,000 feet of William Allen White School during two Emporia Police controlled buys in May 2018.
The pretrial hearing is at 4 pm Wednesday in Lyon County District Court. Salazar could have trial begin Feb. 19 or as late as April 8.
