Wichita Police has released more information about the alleged incident that led to the arrest of a Morris County man in Riley County earlier this week.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jeffrey Porter, Jr., allegedly fired several shots at a currently unnamed man at a Wichita apartment complex early Feb. 6. The victim was able to run off an call for help but remains hospitalized with serious injuries as of Tuesday morning after receiving gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Porter, a Wilsey resident, was arrested Monday morning in Manhattan on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and a no-bond warrant out of Harvey County. Should formal charges be filed, and those are currently pending, he will likely be extradited to Sedgwick County due to the allegations of more serious criminal activity there.
