Lyon County commissioners have a lot of ground to cover during their action meeting Thursday morning.
Commissioners will discuss traffic flow, especially in light of the November blizzard that forced the closure of the Kansas Turnpike and caused a lengthy backup on Interstate 35 near Emporia.
Commissioners will consider approving nearly $45,000 in software and maintenance fees for the county’s new touch-screen voting machines utilized for the first time last year. Commissioners will also consider approving contracts for improvements inside the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Separately, commissioners will also receive a pair of reports — one from Appraiser Gary Stapp on work schedules and one from Sheriff Jeff Cope on federal forfeitures.
The meeting starts at 8 am in the County Courthouse.
