Emporia State University is celebrating Founders Day Friday.
The annual Founders Day Luncheon will be held Friday afternoon inside of the Memorial Union’s Webb Hall. Director of Alumni Relations at ESU, Jose Feliciano says the celebration, while centered on the founding of the university, also serves as an opportunity to recognize the relationships fostered throughout ESU’s 156-year history.
The afternoon’s program will include special recognition of the city of Emporia’s and Lyon County’s investment in ESU as well as celebrating the generosity of the numerous community donors who have assisted the University. The program will also include the awarding of scholarships to the winners of the annual 1863 essay contest.
Student’s essays are centered on the question “How has Emporia State University changed your life?”
The program will begin at noon in Webb Hall with doors opening at 11:30 am. Tickets are required to attend the luncheon and may be purchased at hornetnation.emporia.edu.
