The Morris County man accused of shooting a second man in Wichita last week has now been formally charged in connection to the incident.
Jeffrey Vermont Porter, Jr., is now charged with first-degree attempted murder, according to the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office. He’s currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
According to Wichita Police, Porter allegedly shot a man Feb. 6 at a Wichita apartment complex. The victim was shot more than once and suffered serious injuries afterward.
Porter, a Wilsey resident, was arrested Monday morning in Manhattan. Word on court dates is pending.
