With the light to occasionally moderate snowfall which has blanketed most of the KVOE listening area beginning to wrap up, residents are still advised to exercise caution on roadways.
TV-13 Meteorologist Jeremy Goodwin has an outlook on conditions through the evening into the weekend.
Winter weather advisories for the entire KVOE listening area remain in effect until 6 pm Friday.
With snow accumulating on roadways throughout the day, Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputy Jody Meyers offers some words of advice for any travelers who may be out into the evening hours.
Several non-injury crashes have been reported throughout the day on the Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 103 and 108.
County crews began treating roadways around 10:30 am with a combination of material treatments and blading on bridges and overpasses. Assistant County Engineer Jim Brull tells KVOE News crews will continue to evaluate conditions and plan additional treatments accordingly.
Both Lyon County Engineer Chip Woods and City Street Supervisor Mike Dvorak tell KVOE News they are well-stocked on treatment materials at this time.

Undersheriff John Koelsch encourages everybody to dress for the conditions if they are participating or observing the Special Olympics fundraiser.
