The Emporia State men out scored Northeastern State 17-8 in the final 5 minutes on the way to a 70-64 win Saturday afternoon.
The game featured 12 lead changes and 7 ties. Northeastern took the lead 56-53 with 5:01 to play after Emporia State had an 8 point lead with 10 minutes to play. Julius Jackson led the late charge hitting 3 three point shots and 2 free throws. Jackson broke the school record for most consecutive free throws at 28. He finished with a game high 22 points. Kooper Glick finished with 21 points.
The Hornets with the win improve to 11-13 and 6-9 in the MIAA. They are now tied for 7th place in the MIAA Standings. They will host Pittsburg State Thursday.
