The Emporia State women used a 17-1 2nd half run to erase a 9 point deficit on the way to a 66-60 win over Northeastern State Saturday.
The game featured 9 lead changes and 5 ties. Northeastern held a 42-33 lead in the 3rd quarter before the Lady Hornets went on the 17-1 run to take a 50-43 lead. The Lady Hornets would hold a 8 point lead in the 4th quarter. Northeastern cut the lead to 62-60 with just over a minute to play. Jessica Wayne hit a 3 pointer and Morgan Lauden made 1 of 2 free throws for the final margin.
Addie Lackey was the leading scorer for the Lady Hornets with 14 points Tyra Jones and Jessica Wayne each scored 11 points. With the win the Emporia State women have now won 8 in a row and are 20-5 for the season and 11-4 in the MIAA. They are now tied for 3rd place in the MIAA Standings.
