Pioneer Bluffs recently received an award from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism (KDWPT).
Pioneer Bluffs is a historic ranch in the Flint Hills where visitors can experience the nature and heritage of a way of life still prominent to the region. Director Lynn Smith talks about the award they received.
There were six different categories of awards given to several organizations like Pioneer Bluffs. This is the first year that the KDWPT has offered these awards, and they are hoping to make it an annual tradition.
Three of these award-winners are in the Flint Hills, being the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, the Flying W Ranch, and Pioneer Bluffs. Smith talks about the benefits of having these awards in the Flint Hills.
Several events will be coming to Pioneer Bluffs as spring rolls around. To see what’s coming or for more information, call (620) 753-3484 or visit the website at http://pioneerbluffs.org/.
