An Americus teenager was not hurt in a crash Sunday in southern Chase County, but one of her passengers was taken to Emporia for observation and possible medical treatment after the wreck.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 16-year-old Alexia Domenech was driving an SUV southbound on Kansas Highway 177 when the vehicle left the highway shortly after 1:30 pm. Domenech swerved back onto the road but then overcorrected. The SUV left the highway, hit a culvert and rolled once.
Domenech and one of her two passengers, 14-year-old Anthony Atchison, were not hurt. Another passenger, 15-year-old Sasha Merz of Augusta, was taken to Newman Regional Health with possible injuries.
All three were wearing seatbelts when the crash happened.
