The Madison Bulldogs jumped out to a quick lead and never trailed against the Hartford Jaguars on their way to a 70-41 regional first-round win.
A 24 to 4 first quarter would see Madison take control early and despite being outscored 13-10 in the second quarter the Bulldogs would carry a 34-17 lead into the locker room. Hartford would again outscore Madison in the third quarter before a 24-11 fourth quarter would see Madison advance to the second round of the Olpe regional.
Madison head coach Brett Dannels says it was all about the fast start in the first quarter.
Madison had four players score in double figures, sophomore Chase Harrison led his team with 23 points, senior Austin Watts and sophomore Kelton Buettner both had 12 points and sophomore Hunter Engle added 11. Hartford was led in scoring by junior Cody Thomas with 18 points and senior Dalen Kistner with 16.
Madison will now face either Waverly in the second round Friday.

Waverly 58 Marmaton Valley 24 – girls. Waverly vs Hartford Thursday in regional semi-finals at Olpe.
Southern Coffey County defeated Colony Crest 46-33. Southern Coffey County will next play Olpe Friday night.
The Chase County boys at Burrton first round regional game will be played Wednesday after being postponed Tuesday.
The Northern Heights at West Franklin games scheduled for Tuesday night were postponed and re-scheduled for Thursday.
