The Emporia State baseball team opened MIAA play with a 10-7 win over Central Missouri Thursday.
The Hornets scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 8th to earn the win. Alex Penner hit a 3 run home run and Connor Hurst and Aaron Dees hit solo home runs.
Emporia State and Central Missouri will play a doubleheader Friday in Warrensburg.
