SOS had a good turnout for its dress sale Thursday. Yes, dress sale.
SOS is gearing up for its seventh annual Hope-A-Palooza next month with the theme “Prom Through the Years” — so it made sense to have a prom dress sale. And people turned out in droves to The Copper Top for the four-hour event.
Director Connie Cahoone says it was a great evening.
Cahoone pointed out one donation as the event continued.
Over 100 dresses were donated for the sale, and Cahoone says dresses not purchased Thursday will be on sale at the current SOS building, 618 Mechanic.
Hope-A-Palooza is March 22, including a dinner, auction and dance. Tickets are $50, with tables for eight people going for $400 and VIP tables selling for $500. For more information, call SOS at 343-8799 or go online to www.soskansas.com.
SOS is also in the early stages of the public half of its $3.1 million Stronger Together capital campaign to buy and renovate the office building at 1420 C of E Drive. The campaign is designed to consolidate all SOS services under one roof. Over $1.4 million has already been raised, and SOS wants to raise $1.3 million before December to take advantage of a $430,000 Mabee Foundation capstone challenge grant.
