The Emporia High girls and boys basketball teams closed out the regular season with senior night wins over Junction City Friday night.
The Lady Spartans scored the first 6 points and never looked back on the way to a 52-13 win. Coach Carolyn Dorsey called it a positive night.
Mya Chapman led the offense with 12 points. Taylor Milleson, the lone senior scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds. The Lady Spartans finish the regular season with a 8-12 record and 5-9 in the Centennial League.
The Emporia High boys used a 15-0 run in the 3rd quarter to help secure a 61-55 win. The win gives the Spartans a winning record for the regular season. Coach Beau Welch calls that a big accomplishment.
Beau Baugardner led Emporia High with 16 points. Kyler McCullough added 13 points, Jace Stewart 12 and Spencer Stewart 10. The Emporia High boys are now 11-9 for the season and 6-8 in Centennial League play.
Up next is Sub-State play. The girls play Wednesday at Topeka Seaman. The boys play Thursday at Kansas City Schlagle.
