Six Emporia High School Spartan wrestlers are still alive in the 5A State Championship tournament in Park City.
Drew Baker has secured a spot on the podium having advanced to the championship semifinals. Baker won by fall in the opening round and picked up a 6-4 win in the championship quarterfinals.
In the semifinals Baker lost by fall at 1:23 in the first period. With the loss Baker will now moves into the consolation semifinals with an opportunity to wrestle for third place.
Levi Buckridge is 1-1 at 126 pounds losing 8-4 in the opening round and then picking up a 9-3 win in his first round consolation match. Anthony Delgado won his opening match by fall and lost by fall in the championship quarterfinals.
Ethan Garate, Isaac Huber and Whitney Hall each lost their opening matches by fall. All three won their first round consolation matches by fall.
Dalton Leek, Brooks Sauder and Efren Palomares were all eliminated going 0-2 on day one.
