The Emporia State celebrated Senior day with their final home games against Missouri Southern Saturday.
The Emporia State women out scored Southern 76-56. The Lady Hornets used a 10-0 run to end the first quarter to take a 14-12 lead. They would also go on a 17-0 run in the 4th quarter to build a 22 point lead. Coach Toby Wynn said it took time to settle down.
Senior Addie Lackey led Emporia State with 16 points. All 16 points were scored in the second half.
Jessica Wayne finished with 12 points, Morgan Laudan added 11 points and Tyra Jones scored 10 points.
The Lady Hornets improve to 21-6 for the season and 12-5 in the MIAA.
Seven Seniors were recognized before the game:
Addie Lackey, Tiana Moala, Tatum Graves, Brittany Kramer, Emily Miller, Tyra Jones and Kyrstie Miller.
A late run by the Emporia State men came up short in a 91-82 loss to Missouri Southern. The Hornets trailed by 21 points in the 2nd half 57-36 with over 15 minutes to play. Emporia State would out score the Lions 35-20 over the next 10 minutes to cut the lead to 6 points, but thats as close as they would get. Coach Craig Doty called it a good run.
Senior Hassan Thomas led the Hornets offense with 17 points.
Kooper Glick added 16 points and Julius Jackson finished with 10 points. The Hornets are now 11-15 for the season and 6-11 in the MIAA.

The Emporia State basketball teams play at Northeastern State Thursday.
