Flint Hills Technical College has secured yet another major grant from the WS and EC Jones Testamentary Trust.
This time, a $350,000 grant will help the college and its students in two specific areas — Dental Assisting and Practical Nursing. Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch explains:
Crouch says nursing, dental assisting and dental hygiene are all extremely popular with students. Dental hygiene is currently at capacity, while dental assisting is at near-record levels with continued interest and potential growth. The nursing program, meanwhile, has ongoing interest at a time when hospitals and other medical facilities across Kansas are struggling with a nursing shortage.
Crouch tells KVOE News donations like this help the college meet the education needs of its students while also meeting the needs of area businesses at the same time.
