An Olpe man faces formal charges of illegal sexual activity with a child.
Garry Dale Wilson faces charges of aggravated indecent solicitation with a minor, aggravated indecent liberties and aggravated criminal sodomy. A preliminary hearing is on the docket for March 13 in Lyon County District Court. Judge Doug Jones will preside.
Bond was set at $250,000 during Wilson’s first court appearance Tuesday. Rand Simmons was appointed as Wilson’s attorney.
Additional details are pending with the affidavit sealed. However, the formal complaint as provided by Lyon County District Court to KVOE News alleges illegal activity from January 2018 to earlier this month. Authorities say the victim was seven years old when the abuse started.
Wilson was one of the longtime organizers of Olpe Downhome, which marked its 16th year in its current format in 2018.
