Patchy freezing drizzle and sleet may be with us through mid-morning Wednesday.
Freezing drizzle from Tuesday night into the early morning hours Wednesday have not caused any widespread travel issues for most of the KVOE listening area. However, the National Weather Service has extended a winter weather advisory for Lyon, Coffey and Osage counties to end at 9 am due to ongoing activity. Chase and Greenwood counties, meanwhile, are in a separate advisory until 6 am Thursday.
The Kansas Turnpike Authority has issued an ice warning for the highway from the Emporia gate southwest to El Dorado until 9:15 am and from Emporia north to Kansas City until 8:15 am. Driving conditions are getting slick in Morris County north of Council Grove.
Very little in the way of accumulation is possible through mid-morning, but drivers need to be mindful that there could be isolated to scattered slick spots, mainly on bridges and overpasses Wednesday.
