Three Morris County residents escaped injury after a two-vehicle injury crash southwest of Hutchinson on Wednesday.
The crash happened shortly after 8:30 am at the junction of Kansas Highways 14 and 96, or about 110 miles southwest of Emporia. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 36-year-old Yachal Benedick of Wilsey was driving a pickup and towing a trailer when the crash happened. Benedick’s truck was stopped at the junction when a southbound car driven by 21-year-old Lauren Ann Rust of Wichita crossed the southbound K-14 lanes and hit Benedick’s trailer.
Benedick and two passengers, 32-year-old Marcelo Balboa and 25-year-old Chase Olsen, both of Council Grove, were not hurt. Rust and a passenger, 18-year-old Graciela Diaz of Hutchinson, were both taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center with possible injuries.
