A Topeka woman suffered apparently significant injuries after a crash in Osage County on Sunday night.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 37-year-old Amber Belvins was northbound on the Kansas Turnpike around 40 miles northeast of Emporia when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel shortly before 9 pm. Her car left the highway and went into a ditch.
Belvins was wearing her seatbelt but was still listed with suspected serious injuries due to the wreck. She was taken to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
