The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees is looking forward to the next major capital improvement project with the new emergency department complex fully operational.
CEO Bob Wright says the renovation process of the old emergency department space into the new physical therapy complex will closely resemble the overall work leading up to the new emergency department complex.
Early indications are demolition will start later this year, although final drawings may not be ready until early next year. Work could take up to six months to complete.
Plans for the current therapy building at 12th and Chestnut have not been finalized, but Wright has said the building has structural concerns, especially with the foundation, and it no longer meets the hospital’s needs.
