Emporia Police are continuing their investigation into a reported shooting in town Tuesday night.
Capt. Dave DeVries tells KVOE News the incident at 625 Sylvan is being considered an unattended death. He also says it is not being investigated as a criminal matter.
Police will not release any more information about the incident, which was reported shortly after 6 pm Tuesday.
7:30 pm Tuesday: Shooting reported in east Emporia
Emporia Police and Emporia Fire are at a reported shooting incident on the east side of town.
Authorities were dispatched to the 600 block of Sylvan around 6:15 pm. Additional details have not been released at this time.
The Emporia Fire Department tells KVOE News nobody was transported from the scene. Further details are still pending.
