The Season came to an end for the Lebo boys basketball team Thursday afternoon. They were out scored by Osborne 44-41 in the first round of the 1A State tournament.
Lebo rallied from a point down after the first quarter to lead 24-21 a halftime. Osborne responded to re-take a three point leading heading to the fourth quarter. Lebo trailed by as many as seven points, in the fourth,but fought back to with-in one — with less than a minute remaining — but a turnover and two Osborne free throws ended the rally.
Lebo boys’ coach Dwayne Paul said it was a hard fought game by both teams, with Osborne making one play more.
Lebo was led by Junior Kaden Ott with eleven points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore Devan McEwen who fouled out with 6:15 to play — added nine. The Wolves end their season 18-6, and with no seniors on the roster, look to bring back the entire roster next season.
Friday at the 1A Tournament. The Waverly girls play Hanover in the semifinals. tip-off at 3pm.
