Showers, thunderstorms and high wind now appear likely for Saturday.
Showers and thunderstorms could develop between midnight and sunrise across the area and they could continue through the late morning hours, dropping half-an-inch of rain or more on ground that has become quite soggy after over 20 inches of snow and 5 inches of rain this winter.
Severe weather is possible just east of the KVOE listening area.
As the storms continue, winds will increase from 15-25 mph to as high as 45 mph. As a result, a wind advisory now affects Lyon, Coffey, Morris and Osage counties from noon to 6 pm, while Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory from 11 am to 6 pm. The National Weather Service says loose or lightweight outdoor objects will be blown around and driving could be impacted, especially on north- and south-oriented roads.
