Early this Sunday morning will mark the “spring forward” time change from Daylight Saving Time, and AAA Kansas offers advice for morning commuters.
This weekend we will lose an hour of sleep, and Shawn Steward, AAA Kansas spokesman, asks drivers to be wary of the change and avoid driving while drowsy.
Along with avoiding drowsy driving, Steward recommends keeping a keen eye out for pedestrians, children at bus stops and remaining extra cautious as the mornings will be darker than usual.
As the weather begins to warm up, gasoline prices will expectedly rise as well. Warmer temperatures typically lead to a higher demand for gas. Globally, crude oil has also seen an increase in price and a decrease in supply. Steward talks about the local increases in gas prices.
Daylight Saving Time will take effect this Sunday morning at 2:00 am.
