The Kansas Department of Transportation has approved a bid for road work east of Emporia.
APAC Kansas-Shears Division of Hutchinson won the bid for work on parts of Kansas Highways 276 and 278 as well as US Highway 75. The submitted bid was for almost $405,000.
This project has several components:
*K-276 will see work from the Fairlawn Road junction east to the US-75 junction
*K-278 will also wee work from Fairlawn Road and the Melvern Recreational Area junctions east to the junctions of US-75, K-278 and Kansas Highway 31
*US-75 has work planned from just south of K-278 north to where the pavement changes near Kansas Highway 68.
KDOT has not announced a timetable for the upcoming work.
