Iowa State out scored Kansas 78-66 to win the Big-12 basketball tournament championship and earn a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Iowa State closed out the first half on a 11-1 run to take a 32-22 lead at halftime. In the 2nd half the Cyclones led by as many as 17. Kansas cut the deficit to 9 with just over 2 minutes to play but would get no closer. Kansas Coach Bill Self said Iowa State was better.
Dedric Lawson led Kansas with a game high 18 points and Devon Dotson added 17 points. Both were named to the all tournament team.
Sunday afternoon the SEC Championship game will be played with Tennessee playing Auburn. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM with coverage starting at 11:45a.
