Kansas and Kansas State both received invitations to the big dance.
Kansas, making their 30th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance, is the 4th seed in the Midwest Regional. Coach Bill Self is a little surprised they are in the Midwest Regional.
The Jayhawks will play Northeastern Thursday in Salt Lake City. Tip-off is set for 3pm. The winner will play either Auburn or New Mexico State Saturday.
Kansas State, making their 31st NCAA tournament appearance, is the 4th seed in the South Regional. The Wildcats will play UC Irvine Friday in San Jose, California. Coach Bruce Weber has a lot of respect UC Irvine.
Tip-off is set for 1pm. The winner will play Wisconsin or Oregon on Sunday.
The number 1 seeds are: Duke in the East, Gonzaga in the West, Virginia in the South and North Carolina in the Midwest.
