One of five defendants in a drug distribution ring that began making headlines last fall has been sentenced.
Amanda Alvarado received 18 months probation with an underlying 17-month prison term after pleading no contest to methamphetamine possession and aggravated child endangerment.
More sentencings are coming in the next few weeks. Cole Bowen, convicted of meth possession with intent to distribute and paraphernalia possession, will be sentenced next month. Also to be sentenced are Jacob Rodriguez on drug distribution charges, Luis Guillen on charges of drug possession with intent to distribute and Seanna Herron on charges of possession with intent to distribute.
Charges were announced in September after an Emporia Police investigation.
