It’s a record for the St. Patrick’s Committee.
The annual auction, Leprechaun Dash 5K, raffles and a new banner program raised almost $31,100 for a record 24 local community groups this year. Spokesperson Barb Ternes-Lowery says the extra money bodes well for the community groups seeking full funding for their projects.
Last year’s total was just over $30,000.
Ternes-Lowery thanked the community for its support, especially considering the number of different fundraising ventures that take place in and around Emporia. She also thanked the community groups for their work to make this year’s fundraising effort a success.
The date for the annual check presentation is pending.
