The Emporia State softball team suffered two losses in the Emporia Regional Classic Friday.
The Lady Hornets were out scored by Minnesota State-Mankato 2-1. Hanna Steebe hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning to give the Lady Hornets a 1-0 lead. Minnesota State scored 2 runs in the 6th and held on for the win.
Concordia St. Paul out scored the Lady Hornets 6-5. Concordia scored 2 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. Emporia State answered with 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd. Scoring a run on a wild pitch and runs on singles by Cassidy Beem and Rachel Kauss. Concordia scored 3 runs in the top of the 5th. Emporia State added a run on a triple by Gabby Biondo. Concordia scored a run in the 6th thanks to an Emporia State error. The Lady Hornets added a run in the bottom of the 7th on a Kenzi Garvin single. Coach April Rosales said they made to many errors.
