Sentencing is coming in May for one person accused of kidnapping as part of an incident in Emporia last fall.
Stacy Steen, 32, pleaded no contest to aggravated kidnapping earlier this month. Besides that count, she was originally charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated battery.
Sentencing is at 1 pm May 9.
Steen’s plea and upcoming sentencing hearing are related to an incident reported in September, when a person reported being kidnapped, beaten and robbed at an unspecified Emporia address over a period of several days.
Meanwhile, one person sought by Emporia Police in connection to the incident has been arrested and charged. Brandon Villa, at one point on Lyon County’s Most Wanted list on suspicion of kidnapping, now faces a charge of aggravated kidnapping. He has a preliminary hearing April 10.
Two other suspects, Will Anderson and Ivan Murillo, are still charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated battery. Anderson has a motions hearing April 4, while Murillo is set for trial April 15.
