A Morris County man was hurt and a Wabaunsee County woman died after a two-vehicle crash in Geary County on Sunday.
The crash happened shortly after 3 pm on Kansas Highway 177 about two miles south of Interstate 70. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pickup driven by 66-year-old Dwight Sharp of Council Grove was northbound, but Sharp went left of center for unlisted reasons. His truck hit a car driven by 31-year-old Kayla Jacobson of Alta Vista.
The head-on crash left Jacobson dead. Sharp was airlifted to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka with suspected serious injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
