Emporia State University is gearing up for its annual Women’s History Month reception and awards ceremony.
Mallory Koci, clinical instructor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, will receive the Ruth Schillinger Award for extraordinary contributions to the women of Emporia State over a sustained period.
Also, Kathy Landwehr, the associate director of the ESU Student Advising Center, will receive the Mary Headrick Award for helping women reach their full potential.
The Susan B Anthony Scholarship, awarded to a student who has contributed to the education of women on campus while maintaining her own academic excellence, will go to junior sociology major Victoria Goetzinger.
The reception is from 3:30-5 pm at the Memorial Union Phi Kappa Phi Room. The university’s Ethnic and Gender Studies program and Department of Interdisciplinary Studies are sponsoring Friday’s event.
