The Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees meeting for March was one that saw many business reports and updates.
Opening the meeting was the NRH Foundation 2018 annual report. Highlights involved the Foundation’s total revenue analysis. The yearly revenue was around $687,000 with $340,000 from philanthropic events, $230,000 from realized capital gains, and $117,000 from investment income.
A huge chunk of the philanthropic gains came from last year’s Denim & Diamonds Benefit Gala, which raised almost $68,000 or 10 percent of the annual total. These funds were used to purchase new equipment for the Cardiopulmonary Department.
The 2019 Denim & Diamonds Benefit Gala will be on Aug. 2nd in the Memorial Union Ballroom at ESU and funds raised will replace old anaesthesia machines for all operating rooms, including c-section rooms.
Also on the agenda was a plan to update the parking layout of the hospital’s lots to allow efficient access for all. NRH employees may expect a request to relocate from their typical parking spaces.
The NRH Board of Trustees meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month and will next convene on April 24th in the Newman Conference Center at 12:00 pm.
