Two new department heads at Newman Regional Health are getting up to speed after recently coming on board.
Donny Bellomy has been leading the cardiology department since last summer. His medical career started with a fire science class in Hutchinson.
The new cath lab director is Liz Johnston. She says the lab is busy, both with the patient load and with efforts to keep care at high levels.
Cardiopulmonary services includes the hospital’s cardiac care unit. It also includes various testing procedures as well as the hospital’s respiratory therapy unit, sleep lab and durable medical equipment store. The cath lab, meanwhile, offers 24-7 coverage for acute cardiac incidents and is also available for elective procedures for angioplasties, pacemakers and defibrillators.
