Strong storms developed west of Emporia on Thursday morning. Those storms lost their intensity as they approached Emporia but still generated some hail before they pushed away.
Warnings were issued for portions of Chase and Morris counties shortly after 9 am for the risk of quarter-sized hail. Nickel-sized hail was reported just south of Allen, with pea-sized hail noted at Lake Kahola.
