Reports are pending after a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Chase County on Friday.
The warning was issued for the risk of hail up to half-dollar or ping-pong-ball size. So far, there has been no confirmation of that at ground level. Penny-sized hail was reported near Neosho Rapids as part of a separate cluster.
There is currently a marginal risk of severe weather through the day for the Flint Hills. Large hail is the main concern.

9:45 am Friday: Severe thunderstorm warning issued for part of Chase County
Severe thunderstorm warnings are affecting parts of the KVOE listening area for the second straight day.
A severe thunderstorm warning affects northwest Chase County until 10:30 am. Hail to the size of ping pong balls, or 1.5 inches in diameter, is possible.
There is currently a marginal risk of severe weather through the day for the Flint Hills, with large hail the main threat.
Thursday’s warnings did not lead to any official severe weather, although nickel-sized hail was reported near Allen.
